Co-Parenting

Children Centered

Children are at the heart of all that we do. Our goal is for children to have both of their parents engaged in their lives even though they are not in a relationship with one another. We help parents work through their issues to become better coparents.

Our approach is to first work with the individual parent to help them overcome any emotional or financial struggles that they are experiencing as a single parent. We then help them achieve positive coparenting and intrafamily relationships through programs that focus on the following.

  1. Forgiveness

  2. Healing

  3. Productive Interpersonal Communication

  4. Training on how to sustain well-balanced families

The Blended Tree provides support to the total blended family. We define a blended family as any family where there are siblings who do not share the same two parents. Watch the video for more information on our definition of a blended family.

Resources for Philadelphia Based Working Parents

Searching for resources is time consuming, especially for working single parents. We have done the research for you. At The Blended Tree, we provide resource information in the areas of:

Toxic Coparents

Dealing with a Difficult or Toxic Coparent? – See tips below or listen to this short audio.

1

Try to keep conversations focused on your children's needs and avoid getting caught up in personal issues or emotions. No matter what your ex says, your response can be ‘I understand how you feel’ and bring the conversation back to your children.

2

When you see your ex, you may be picking up or dropping off the kids, at a birthday party, or other family function. They may meet you with an attitude, want to argue, or start bringing up your issues. DO NOT FEED INTO THIS! No matter how you may be triggered, know that a soft answer from you may diffuse the situation.

How Can We Help?
